State Delegate Responsibilities

  • Make at least 60 appearances (5 per month) by the time of the national pageant.
  • Prepare yourself and participate in all pre-pageant program activities.
  • Submit portfolio of your service and reign.
  • Submit pictures and recaps for all events attended, to post on website.
  • Frequently, contribute to your state blog page.
  • Submit all national paperwork on time.
  • If necessary, sell spotlight advertisements to cover your national pageant expenses.
  • Coordinate one major Platform Event.
  • Lead and partner with your State Queen’s Court (Top 5) for several activities/events.
  • Stay in contact with your national director and contestant coordinator.
  • Raise awareness of your platform and social cause.
  • Raise awareness of the national platform and pillars of empowerment.
  • Raise $2000 for Charity; as designated by Pageant Headquarters. Assistance provided.
  • Visit at least 20 schools in your state (May count toward appearances).
  • Participate in promotional engagements, charity events, special projects, autograph signings, and media interviews as requested by national office.
  • Promote your platform, yourself, your career goals, network, establish relationships, and build the reputation of the Miss Black United States Program.
  • Post on MBUS Social Media Channels for your state.  (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, State Blog, etc.)
  • Be the best state representative that you can be.
